3D printed Toy Car

This project was developed in 2008 in coöperation with the Dutch research institute TNO, to explore the production possibilities of 3D printing.
The pull-back toy car is 3D printed in nylon powder material that is melted together layer by layer by a laser and emerges from the machine complete with working gears, axles, spring and wheels. No assembly is required except for the added rubber bands that give grip to the wheels.

The toy car shows the intriguing workings of a pull-back mechanism.
